When you’re going backpacking a backpack is one of the travel goods you’ll need. There are so many backpacks available in different price classes so picking one can be a lengthy decision. That’s why I came up with top 4 for this year. I looked at different features and different travel goals.
1. Kelty Redwing 40
Kelty isn’t a very known brand but they have lots of backpacks. One of the series backpacks is called Redwing, available in a special women’s edition too! The Kelty Redwing 40 would be a good pick for multiple reasons: 1. Compact backpack. 2. Has lots of space. 3. Easy access from the front. 4. Also available in 44 and 50 Liters.
2. Deuter ACT Lite 35+10
Also available in a special women’s edition. Deuter has good quality backpacks.
The material they use is very thin but strong enough so it doesn’t tear easily. A brand like Osprey uses the same kind of thin material but Osprey is more expensive and the quality is not better than Deuter’s. In my opinion if you’re not sure to either chose a Deuter or Osprey, go for a Deuter backpack, you will not regret this decision!
The Deuter ACT Lite packs are lightweight. The only downside: it’s a toploader bag. This means you won’t be able to access you’re stuff from the front. There is a lower compartment but from the inside you’ll be able to either keep the 2 compartments as 2 or make it one big compartment.
3. The North Face Router Transit Backpack
The North Face is one of the best brands when it comes to backpacks. They mostly have daypacks but the Router Transit bag has a capacity of 41 liters which makes it ideal for backpackers who want to travel with a carry-on bag only! The bag is compact and has 3 different compartments, one of which is a special laptop compartment. This makes it easier to get through airport security!
4. Women’s Gregory Jade
The Gregory Jade is a special Women’s edition abd has a capacity of 38 liters. It’s perfect as a carry-on backpack. It’s a toploader bag but has also easy access from the front. This bag is ideal for backpacking and hiking. Gregory has more backpacks to offer, for both men and women!
